SHOW SYNOPSIS & details

Shepherds watch their sheep in the Holy Land, overlooking Al Aqsa Masjid and the Dome of the Rock. Buzzes heard overhead, saturating the air, and the landscape shifts. Scenes layer one upon another, familiar families and faces seen on screens for years. Sitting in the moment till the scent of cardamon calls for قهوة (qahwa/coffee).
Inspired by Gaza Birds Singing Founder, Ahmed “Muin” Abu Amsha’s folksong, adapted from the chorus of Libre Palestina by Zaid Hilal. This toy theater puppet show is what Ahmed describes as “a call to lift the weight of truth, the voice of courage, and the spirit that refuses to be silenced. A tribute to those who held on to the truth until their very last breath, to every soul that spread light through honest words... their memory will forever be a light in our hearts.”
