SHOW SYNOPSIS & details
as submitted by the artist(s)
Tucked inside the historic Hermit Club, a band of lovable misfits gathers to make something beautiful, ridiculous, and real. Part play, part cabaret, part community ritual, Welcome to the Club is a site-specific performance that blurs the line between art and gathering, performance and party.
This original work blends theater, storytelling, music, and dance to explore how creative people find each other — and what happens when they do. It’s about the joy of being a little too much, the courage of making noise when you’ve been told to stay quiet, and the magic of discovering a place where you belong.
Set in and inspired by the Hermit Club itself — a 100-year-old hideout for artists, musicians, and theatrical oddballs — the show features professional performers from Cleveland’s vibrant performing arts community alongside actual members of the Club, whose stories and talents help shape the performance.
Come as you are. Clap too loud. Cry if you need to. This one’s for the weirdos, the wallflowers, the wanderers — and anyone who’s ever wished for a space to be unapologetically themselves.
