The Art of Becoming a Sacred Bitch is a poetic theatrical work that explores what happens when the sacred and the profane live in the same body. Through raw, lyrical monologue, Roschelle Ogbuji guides audiences through an intimate journey of grief, rage, sensuality, faith, and survival. This is not simply a performance. It is a ritual of witnessing and transformation.
Ogbuji’s language is unapologetically intimate, blending humor, anger, tenderness, and spiritual insight. In doing so, the work challenges traditional ideas of purity, healing, and womanhood. It insists that rage can be sacred, that survival can be holy, and that naming oneself can be an act of liberation.
At its heart, The Art of Becoming a Sacred Bitch is a story of reclamation. It invites audiences to sit inside discomfort, witness resilience, and reconsider what it means to survive with voice, body, and spirit intact. This is not a tale of easy healing, but a fierce hymn of becoming.
