SHOW SYNOPSIS & details

as submitted by the artist(s)

The Stars Made Me Gay is created ~90% verbatim from interviews with LGBTQIA+ people. This first volume of Queer Anthology shines a spotlight on the experiences of bisexual/pansexual, lesbian, and trans masculine people, capturing their heartfelt stories of identity, resilience, and the search for belonging. Hopefully this piece will bring a little bit of light and laughter into dark times.

Queer Anthology was started by Lauren Lash in 2020. Lauren was interviewed about her experience being bisexual and that interview was turned into a monologue for a class project. Watching that monologue performance was the first time Lauren really felt seen. It was so amazing to see her story performed that Lauren was inspired to interview queer friends and tell their stories. So far she has interviewed people about different sexualities , gender identities, and how different factors (religion, race, disability, age) affect their experiences as a queer individual.

Lauren is currently working on future installments of Queer Anthology. If you are interested in seeing your story on stage, you can email queeranthologists@gmail.com to set up an interview.
