SYNOPSIS
Can we face down fascism with the wisdom of fools? DI YIDDISHE VAYB is a funny and thought-provoking performance that looks at the choices people make when confronted with the rise of authoritarianism. Join us at the Borderlight Fringe Festival for a joyful and poignant exploration of the stories Ashkenazi Jews tell in diaspora. Audiences of all ages will connect to the live music and captivating, comedic storytelling. Adapted by Rachel Lee from Bertolt Brecht’s “The Jewish Wife,” and the tales of Chelm as related by Isaac Bashevis Singer and Blanche L Serwer Bernstein, DI YIDDISHE VAYB asks questions of recent history that have stirring implications for our current moment. All are welcome!
