SYNOPSIS
From Page to Stage.
"The Expiration Date" is the story of one sixty-something man wrestling with life's big challenges and reflecting on what comes next--what do the "golden years" look like when one faces them alone, without faith in an afterlife or an all-powerful Being in the Sky? How does one live with the questions and no easy answers, while finding some humor, laughter, and absurdity along the way?
This introductory interactive workshop is for anyone who has thought about taking their stories off the page and performing them for a live audience. Judah Leblang, an experienced storyteller and Fringe Festival performer (Best of Festival, Calgary 2019) will share his insights on the basics of taking your writing and transforming pieces on stage: discovering your voice/rhythm, finding a through-line/theme, creating transitions, taking up space on stage, and connecting with an audience. Join Judah--Noon-1 pm on Saturday, August 5 at Kennedy's in Playhouse Square.
