What are the dates of the 2024 festival?

BorderLight 2024 will run July 24-27, 2024.

What festival passes are available and how do they work?

We have ticket packs available for those who want to see a large number of shows.

Purchase 4-, 8-,12- or a 16-Pack:

Ticket packs are available and offer a discount on our standard ticket pricing. They can be used for any one of our Fringe shows. You can purchase Fringe bundles here.

Purchase an International Pack:

Purchase a 4-pack of tickets to our International shows. One person can see 4 shows, or 2 people can see 2 shows! You can purchase your International pack here.

Why are their 3 pricing options available for Fringe Shows?

Our three tiers of Fringe tickets offer options for each budget

Concession ($12) tickets are available for those on a budget.  You don’t need to be a student, under 18, or over 65 to book at this rate.

Standard ($15) tickets help support the artists who perform on our stages.

Pay-It-Forward ($20) tickets help subsidize Concession tickets and ensure that more people can experience live theatre.

Discounts at Playhouse Square Box Office only:

For any international or comedy show at Playhouse Square, students and seniors may purchase 1 discount ticket per verified ID to get $2 off.

What is "Fringe?"

Fringe performances are self-produced theatrical productions by emerging artists. Fringe Festivals bring these performances together to offer a wide spectrum of genres and shows for all interests. There are now hundreds of Fringe Festivals worldwide.

The “fringe” concept first developed in 1948 in Edinburgh, Scotland, when groups of local actors, performers, and musicians—in reaction to the more conventional lineup of the Edinburgh Theatre Festival—launched an alternative program to run concurrent to the main event. Now almost 73 years later, the term ‘fringe’ widely refers to work that resides on the edges of the mainstream—and fringe festivals have served as a critical launch pad for independent artists to self-produce, showcase original work, engage new audiences, and network with fellow indie artists and producers inside of a vibrant festival environment.

There are now 100s of fringe festivals in North America and across the world... and each has its own structure and personality.

The BorderLight Festival is a proud member of the United States Association of Fringe Festivals (USAFF) and World Fringe Network (WFN).

How should I get to the festival?

BorderLight Festival activities will take place in the Playhouse Square neighborhood. We recommend the following methods of getting to Downtown Cleveland:

Public Transit: Catch the Rail/Rapid at Tower City Center, and hop on the Healthline within minutes!

By Bike or Scooter: If you live near Downtown, or in surrounding neighborhoods, consider bringing your bike or taking advantage of Cleveland’s bike-sharing options.

By Car: If you choose to drive, consider carpooling. Parking may be limited, costly, and time consuming. Please plan ahead!

On Foot: Consider walking between venues to save time and money. This year’s footprint is less than a mile!
